Facilities & Equipment Engineer
Job Summary
Serve as the technical leader for plant equipment and facilities, overseeing the planning, maintenance, and upgrading of production machinery, utilities (such as HVAC and compressed air), and site infrastructure to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Installation
Lead equipment selection, installation, and commissioning activities for new production lines and processes.
Optimize facility layouts (material flow, logistics routes, and utility pipelines) to support capacity expansion and productivity.
Maintenance & Reliability
Develop and implement preventive and reliability-centered maintenance programs to improve asset uptime and key reliability metrics.
Energy & Utilities
Monitor plant energy and water consumption and lead efficiency initiatives such as compressed air optimization and lighting upgrades.
Oversee operation of utility and wastewater systems, ensuring safe and compliant performance.
Compliance & Safety
Maintain adherence to relevant safety and environmental regulations through robust procedures, inspections, and risk assessments.
Projects & Innovation
Manage capital and continuous-improvement projects (e.g., renewable energy, automation upgrades) within defined budget and timelines.
Advance digitalization of facility operations using modern monitoring tools and model-based planning for smarter asset management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with production and other internal teams to resolve equipment issues and coordinate vendor and contractor activities for critical systems.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience: 5+ years in industrial facilities, utilities, or equipment engineering; experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
Certifications: PMP, CEM, OSHA 30-Hour preferred.
Skills: Proficient in technical drawing and control basics (e.g., CAD tools, PLC fundamentals) and use of maintenance management systems.
Bilingual communication for coordination with global stakeholders; familiarity with sustainability and energy-management frameworks is preferred.
Attributes: Strategic and hands-on, able to manage multiple projects while responding effectively to urgent operational issues.
Additional Information
Participation in an on-call rotation to support critical facility incidents may be required.
Role involves work in production and utility areas with associated physical and safety requirements; appropriate PPE will be provided.
Role-specific technical training on production systems and methodologies will be offered after hire.
